RETRIEVER COMEBACK FALLS SHORT AS FIELD HOCKEY LOSES TO RHODE ISLAND, 5-3
Orono, Maine - UMBC (3-6) scored three straight goals in a span of 3:15 with 5:05 remaining in the game, but the Retrievers' comeback fell short as Rhode Island hung on to win by a score of 5-3 this afternoon at the University of Maine's Alfond Stadium. In the second half, UMBC outshot URI 16-6, but Rams goalkeeper Jen Perry recorded all seven of her saves in this stanza. URI added three more goals before the Retrievers made their late push.
