FIELD HOCKEY DEFEATS RED FLASH, 3-1

The Retrievers scored three second half goals and went on to defeat St. Francis (PA), 3-1, in an NEC game. The Retrievers improve to 3-10 overall and 3-8 in the NEC.Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Retrievers tied the score with 32:37 remaining as Lauren Olszewski scored her first career goal. Then, at the 13:24 mark, sophomore Amanda Bile gave the Retrievers the lead, converting a feed from Jennifer Rowe. UMBC got the insurance marker with 5:06 to play, as Julie Pettit scored on a Megan Atkinsson feed. UMBC outshot the hosts, 16-1.
