NEW HAMPSHIRE FIELD HOCKEY SHUTS OUT UMBC, 9-0

    DURHAM, N.H. - Katie White (Glens Falls, N.Y.) recorded career highs in both goals (four) and points (nine) to propel the University of New Hampshire field hockey team to Sunday afternoon's 9-0 America East victory against UMBC at Memorial Field. UNH won its sixth consecutive game to improve to 10-8 overall and 5-0 in America East. UMBC is now 2-13 overall and 0-5 in
    league play.

    The Wildcats dominated play from the start and turned a 16-2 shot advantage in the first half into an 8-0 lead on the scoreboard. The 'Cats finished with a 27-4 edge in shots and a 13-2 advantage in
    penalty corners.       

    UNH goalkeepers Christine Buckley (Walpole, Mass.) and Julie Munson (Dover, N.H.) combined for the team's third shutout of the season. Buckley played the first half and made one save and Munson stopped one shot in the second half. UMBC goalie Meghan Polek was credited with 10 saves.
