On Deinzer: Tough, fierce, relentless defender…also comfortable carrying upfield…elected co-captain by her teammates for the 2005 season.

 

2004: Started all 17 games for the Retrievers…registered two defensive saves at Appalachian State and two at Radford…was selected to the NFHCA National Academic Squad for the second consecutive season.

 

2003: Played in all 16 games…recorded two defensive saves on the season…was selected to the NFHCA National Academic Squad.

 

2002: Saw action in nine games.

 

Background: A conference representative and historian for UMBC’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee…was selected Most Valuable Defensive Player at San Dieguito (2001)...received First Team honors in San Diego County's Avocado League...was a CIF Honorable Mention...a member of the Union-Tribune's All-Academic team in 2000 and 2001...also lettered in soccer and track and field...chose UMBC over DePauw, Ithaca and Vassar…daughter of Jon and Dorothy Deinzer...has a younger brother, Nathan…born on Nov. 25, 1984...majoring in political science while working toward minors in Spanish and economics.
