UMBC baseball looks to extend their six game win streak, as they travel to George Washington on Tuesday for mid-week action. The Retrievers have won six of their last seven, including going 5-0 this past week. UMBC is 10-9, 4-2 AE on the year.

UMBC baseball completed the sweep of America East rival Binghamton on Sunday. UMBC won game one 3-1, and the second game 4-0. UMBC improves to 10-9, 4-2 AE on the year.

Walk Off! Gatto's Home Run in the 13th Completes the Comeback Win for UMBC
UMBC baseball completed a nine run come from behind victory on Saturday against Binghamton. Anthony Gatto hit the walk off home run in the 13th to move the Retrievers to 8-9, 2-2 AE on the year.

The UMBC baseball team will conclude their four game home stand with an America East matchup against Binghamton on Saturday and Sunday. UMBC is 7-9, 1-2 AE after winning three of their last four.

UMBC baseball will look to extend their winning ways, with a pair of mid-week games against Mount St. Mary’s and Navy this week. The Retrievers will travel to Emmitsburg on Tuesday before returning home to face the Midshipmen on Wednesday.

UMBC redshirt junior Joe Vanderplas (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax/Tennessee) earned America East Pitcher of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. Joe pitched a complete game win against Hartford on Sunday to give UMBC their first conference win of the year.

Retrievers Rally, But Fall 6-4 to Hartford in Rubber Game of Series
The Retrievers took an lead in the seventh inning, but Hartford responded with five runs in the bottom half of the inning to win 6-4 in the rubber match. UMBC falls to 2-7, 1-2 AE on the year.

Retrievers Split Double-Header with Hartford on Saturday
UMBC took the first game of the double dip with Hawks, thanks to a masterful performance by Joe Vanderplas. The Retrievers would drop the second game to move to 2-6, 1-1 AE on the year.

Baseball Opens America East Play in Hartford This Weekend; Followed by NJIT and Towson Mid-Week
UMBC baseball will kick off their 12th America East campaign against the Hawks on Sunday and Monday. Originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, the three game set was pushed back a day to get the field ready for play due to the recent weather. UMBC sits at 1-5 on the year, having dropped the past four games.

UMBC baseball suffered its fourth straight setback at the hands of Toledo on Sunday afternoon. The Retrievers and Rockets each managed five hits, but it was Toledo who scored the lone run of the day.

Spartans Defeat the Retrievers, 5-0, on Saturday
The UMBC baseball team fell 5-0 to Michigan State on Saturday. The Retrievers only mustered three hits on the day, as the Spartans took control with a four run second inning. The loss drops UMBC to 1-4 on the year.

UMBC Falls 8-1 to Michigan to Open Coastal Carolina Invitational
UMBC baseball jumped ahead against the Wolverines, but Michigan answered with eight straight runs to win 8-1. The Retrievers were led by Nick Naumann (Essex, Md./John Carroll/Chestnut Hill) who went 2-3 on the day with two singles.

UMBC baseball will get back on the field at the Coastal Carolina Invitational this weekend in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Retrievers will play three games against Michigan, Michigan State, and Toledo.

UMBC baseball opened the 2015 campaign by splitting their opening doubleheader with Richmond (L, 2-3) and Lafayette (W, 4-1). Dierks got the win in the nightcap, pitching 2.2 innings of relief.

UMBC baseball will finally get the season rolling after having their previous series with North Carolina A&T and Towson getting cancelled. The Retrievers will enter 2015 looking to improve on their 17-29, 7-17 AE. UMBC will be looking to make the America East playoffs for the first time since 2008.

UMBC baseball will open the 2015 season at North Carolina A&T for a three game set Feb. 20-22. This year, coach Bob Mumma says his team will compete for the top spot in a very deep America East. Last year’s champions, Binghamton University, will look to repeat but will have tough competition in Stony Brook and Hartford.

UMBC Baseball Welcomes 12 Newcomers for 2015 Season
BALTIMORE – The UMBC baseball program has added 12 newcomers for the upcoming 2015 season, Retriever head coach Bob Mumma announced on Thursday afternoon. The Retrievers, who start fall practice in September, will welcome six pitchers, two catchers, two infielders, and two outfielders to the program.

Dolshun and Mikush Selected as Summer League All-Stars
BALTIMORE – UMBC rising sophomore Hunter Dolshun and rising junior Denis Mikush have been selected as All-Stars in their respective summer baseball leagues. Dolshun has spent the 2014 summer in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League (HCL) with the Riverhead Tomcats while Mikush has been pitching for the Vienna River Dogs in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League (CRCBL).
