BALTIMORE – For the second straight season, the UMBC baseball team will be featured live on UMBCRetrievers.tv with the Retrievers playing in front of the cameras on 11 separate dates and a total of 15 games. Each broadcast, brought to viewers free of charge via the America East Digital Network, will come complete with multiple camera angles, replays, and live commentary.
"It's a very exciting time for our program," said third-year head coach Bob Mumma. "This is a great opportunity for our alumni, families, and fans to watch the team from afar and stay connected."
All four of UMBC's America East home series will be featured on the streaming site, in addition to contests against local rivals Navy, George Washington, and Towson.
The Retrievers will kick off their second straight year on UMBCRetrievers.tv with their home opener against the Midshipmen on March 13 at Alumni Field. UMBC then will play in front of the cameras on back-to-back weekends as Albany (March 15-16) and Maine (22-23) come calling.
In April, the Black and Gold's mid-week game against George Washington (Apr. 15) will be streamed live as well as the Retrievers' first-ever meeting with conference newcomer UMass Lowell (Apr. 26-27).
As UMBC completes the 2014 schedule in May, the Retrievers' games against Stony Brook (May 10-11) and local rival Towson (May 14) will also be shown.
The Retrievers open their 2014 slate with a three-game series at William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. on Feb 28-March 2. UMBC then travels south for the Myrtle Beach Hyundai Classic (March 7-8) before returning to Maryland to take on UMES in Princess Anne on March 12 and Navy at home the next day.
