BASEBALL HANDED 15-1 DEFEAT AT DELAWARE

The Delaware Blue Hens racked up 15 runs on 17 hits en-route to a 15-1 victory over UMBC, Tuesday afternoon in Newark, Delaware.  UMBC fell to 3-11 while Delaware improved to 7-13.

The Blue Hens scored the first 12 runs of the game before the Retrievers finally got on the board in the top of the 8th innining on an RBI single by pinch hitter Jake Bennof.

UMBC starter Matt Farina yielded 10 earned runs in 5.2 innings and fell to 0-2 on the season.  Mike Johnson pitched 2.1 innings of relief and allowed 2 earned runs on 4 hits.

Left fielder Chris Yetter went 3-for-3 and catcher Scott Kosmicky added a 2-for-4 day to lead the Retrievers' attack.

UMBC will travel to Georgetown on Wednesday to take on the Hoyas at 3:00.
