11-Run First, Triple Play Highlight Baseball's 13-7 Win over Mount St. Mary's
BALTIMORE—The UMBC baseball team used an 11-run first inning and a triple play in the third to propel them to a 13-7 victory over Mount St. Mary’s at the Baseball Factory Field at UMBC Wednesday evening. With the win, the Retrievers improve to 8-25, while the Mountaineers fell to 15-24.
After freshman starter J.R. Seader (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) struck out three in the top of the first, the Retrievers’ first six batters reached base in the bottom of the inning, capped by sophomore Max Himmelstein (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) two-run triple to right-center field that scored sophomore Brian Klukowicz (Clifton, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) and junior Bryan Russo (Westbury, N.Y./Clarke).

Seader allowed three runs in two innings. Swetnam (3-2) earned the win, going 2.2 innings, allowing three runs. Freshman Samuel Bashioum (
Karl Lamont (0-2) took the loss for the Mountaineers.
