Baseball Falls in Series Finale at Stony Brook, 22-1

    STONY BROOK, N.Y.The UMBC baseball dropped the final contest of a three-game series at Stony Brook, 22-1, Sunday afternoon in Stony Brook, N.Y.

     

    Freshman Tyler Drinkard (Glen Burnie, Md./Northeast) hit a RBI double in the ninth to give the Retrievers (7-20, 3-4 America East) their only run.

     

    Stephen Marino led the Seawolves (14-16, 4-2 AEC) with four hits and six runs batted in.

     

    Senior starter Ed Bach (Columbia, Md./Atholton) (3-5) took the loss for UMBC, while Stony Brook’s Adam Brown (2-5) earned the win, striking out eight in five innings of work.

     

    The Retrievers return to action Wednesday when they take on George Washington at 6 p.m. at the Baseball Factory Field at UMBC. The game will broadcast live on UMBCRetrievers.tv.
