Baseball Falls to Maryland, 8-5, Wednesday Evening

COLLEGE PARK,
Junior Bryan Russo (Westbury, N.Y./Clarke) hit a RBI double to left to score Himmelstein to give the Retrievers (3-10) a 1-0 lead in the first. After the Terps (9-12) responded with one in the bottom of the innings, UMBC used two Maryland errors to score three runs in the top of the second, capped by a Himmelstein single that scored sophomore Mike Lafferty (Annapolis, Md./Mount St. Joseph/Marietta College).
In the third, sophomore Curtis Schickner (East Windsor, N.J./Lawrenceville Prep) drove in his second run of the ballgame, singling up the middle to score freshman Aaron Brill (
