Hoosiers Snap Retriever Baseball's Three-Game Winning Streak, 11-5, Friday Afternoon in Florida

    AUBURNDALE, Fla.The UMBC baseball team fell to Indiana, 11-5, Friday afternoon in Auburndale, Fla. to snap a three-game winning streak. With the loss, the Retrievers fall to 3-7, while the Hoosiers improve to 8-9.

     

    Sophomore Curtis Schickner (East Windsor, N.J./Lawrenceville Prep) led the Retrievers with three hits and two RBI to raise his team-leading batting average to .500.

     

    Junior Rich Conlon (Vienna, Va./James Madison) added two hits and drove in two runs, while sophomore Brian Klukowicz (Clifton, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) had two singles and scored twice.

     

    Freshman J.R. Seader (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) (0-1) started his first game for the Retrievers, allowing six runs in three innings.

     

    Alex Dickerson led the Hoosiers with three hits and a home run. Walker Stadler (2-2) took the win for Indiana, striking out seven in five innings, allowing three runs.

     

    The Retrievers return to action Saturday when they face Northwestern at 11 a.m.
