Baseball Heads to Florida for Seven Games During Spring Break; Saturday's Sacred Heart Game Moved to 11 a.m.

Due to five inches of rain in the Orlando area on Friday, Saturday's game with Sacred Heart has been moved back an hour to 11 a.m.

    BALTIMORE—The UMBC baseball team heads to Winter Haven, Fla. to play seven games in eight days on its annual Spring Break trip. The Retrievers start off playing Sacred Heart Saturday at 11 a.m. Live stats will be available for most games on the trip.

     

    Junior Rich Conlon (Vienna, Va./James Madison) leads the Retrievers (0-4) with a .375 batting average with six hits in 16 at bats, while fellow junior Bryan Russo (Westbury, N.Y./Clarke) leads the team with 5 RBI. Junior Travis Pearson (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) has lead the pitching staff from the bullpen, working 4 and 1/3 innings without allowing an earned run.

     

    UMBC has three common opponents from last year including North Dakota State, whom it split two games with, and Long Island and NJIT, who the Retrievers defeated 10-8 and 5-0, respectively. UMBC will also play Bucknell and Big Ten opponents Indiana and Northwestern in addition to the Pioneers.
