UMBC Baseball Hosts Four-game Series Against Stony Brook This Weekend, UPDATE: Friday's DH Moved Up to 1 p.m. for Weather Concerns

BALTIMORE--The UMBC baseball team plays host to Stony Brook in a four-game series this weekend in America East action. Friday's first game is now scheduled for 1 p.m. to try and beat the incoming weather system, while Saturday's is slated for 1 p.m. The first games both days will be scheduled for seven innings, while the second games will be nine.
Scouting the Seawolves:
Stony Brook comes to Baltimore after defeating Virginia of the ACC on Wednesday, 6-2. The Seawolves opened America East play last weekend, winning 3-of-4 at home against Vermont, including a 21-20 win in 10 innings in the series finale. Brian Witkowski leads Stony Brook with six home runs and 24 RBI, while hitting .360 this season. Nick Tropeano leads the pitching staff with a 3-0 record and a 3.30 ERA in 30 innings pitched.
UMBC Dawg Bites:
The Retrievers (4-19) look to snap a 11-game losing streak after suffering a four-game sweep at Albany this past weekend and a 10-1 defeat against Navy on Tuesday night. Senior Shawn Retz is second in the America East in batting going into the week, he is currently at .423, while senior Brad Brainer and freshman Max Himmelstein are 11th and 12th at .359 and .343, respectievly. Retz, senior Tom Meaney and sophomore Bryan Russo are tied for the team lead with five home runs each, while Meaney leads the team with 25 RBI. Sophomore Austin Drewyer leads the pitching staff with 24 strikeouts, while junior transfer Kevin Clark leads the team with two wins in addition to winning America East Pitcher of the Week, earlier in the year.
