BASEBALL DEFEATED BY DELAWARE STATE, 16-6

The visiting Delaware State Hornets pounded out 17 hits en-route to an easy, 16-6 victory over UMBC, Wednesday afternoon at UMBC Alumni Field.Delaware State (31-15) led 10-0 after seven innings before the Retrievers were able to get on the scoreboard late in the contest.Hornets' Senior center fielder Eddie Linares went 4-for-6 with a pair of RBIs and sophomore first baseman Bret Underwood went 3-for-6 and drove in four runs. Senior right hander Dave Gordon (6-3) allowed just one earned run and only five hits in 8.0 innings of work to collect the win. UMBC starter Andy Glass (1-2) took the loss after allowing seven earned runs and nine in only 3.1 innings UMBC (23-15) senior third baseman Brad Glascock went 2-for-4 with a homer and 4 RBI's to lead UMBC's attack, while senior Matt Wiley added his first career homer in the ninth inning
