BASEBALL POUNDS WEST CHESTER, 17-2

    UMBC pounded out 22 hits en-route to a 17-2 victory over West Chester at Joe Cannon Satdium on Wednesday afternoon.UMBC (21-12) scored three runs in the first and added four more in the second to take a 7-1 lead after just two innings. UMBC chased Golden Ram’s (22-18) starter Brent Wylie, who allowed 11 hits and seven runs in just 2.1 innings of work.Senior shortsop Jared Boyd (2 doubles) went 4-for-6, scored four runs, and drove in three more, while sophomore second baseman Dan Carpenter (3-for-6) drove in a career-high four runs. SO right fielder Rick Guarno, junior third baseman Brad Glascock, senior first baseman Greg Deboy (2 RBIs), and junior catcher Scott Kosmicky (2 RBIs all had three hits.Freshman righty Andy Glass allowed just four hits and one run to pick up his first career victory.
