UMBC Baseball Announces 2008 Summer Camps

BALTIMORE—UMBC baseball head coach John Jancuska and assistant coaches Bob Mumma and Joe Michalski will take part in two instructional camps this summer in the form of John Jancuska’s Youth Baseball Camp and the Summer Slam Baseball Camp.
John Jancuska’s Youth Baseball Camp will offer two sessions for boys ages 6-12 during the summer with the first session running from June 23-27 and the second from July 7-11. The program provides campers with a fun-filled and enjoyable experience while learning the proper fundamentals of the game of baseball. A full day of baseball will be broken up with a lunch on the UMBC Campus followed by a Rec Swim in the UMBC Pool. The cost of the camp is $275 and includes a T-shirt and lunch for each camper. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required with application submission.
The Summer Slam Baseball Camp is run by UMBC assistant coach Bob Mumma and will be offered for boys ages 12-17 from July 23-26 from 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. each day. General skill instruction is provided in all areas of the game including pitching, hitting, defensive play, and base running. In addition, players will get additional instruction for their primary position during the specialty sessions. Video analysis of a player’s one, two, or three skills is also available for an extra fee. The cost of the camp is $175 and a $50 non-refundable deposit is required with registration to guarantee a roster spot.
