BASEBALL DEFEATS GEORGETOWN 15-12 AT ALUMNI FIELD

Baltimore, MD - - -UMBC (8-9) recorded a season-high 15 runs en-route to a 15-12 victory over Georgetown (7-22) at UMBC Alumni Field on Wednesday afternoon.Junior catcher Scott Kosmicky enjoyed a monster day, going 4-for-6 with two homers and 4 RBI's. SR centerfielder John Shuler, senior DH Greg Deboy, sophomore leftfielder Rick Guarno, and sophomore first baseman Derrick Fritz all added three hits for the Retrievers. Shuler also smashed his second home run of the season.Freshman Matt Farina earned the win in relief despite allowing two runs in 1.2 innings of work. The Retrievers used 6 different pitchers in the contest.
