UMBC BASEBALL ANNOUNCES SIGNING CLASS FOR 2006 SEASON

Baltimore, Md. – The UMBC Baseball team and Head Coach John Jancuska announced today the signings of four student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to attend UMBC in the fall of 2005.  Edward Bach (Columbia, Md./Atholton), Timothy Comiskey (Great River, N.Y./East Islip), Thomas Meaney (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem East) and David Warrenfeltz III (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport) have all signed  to play baseball for UMBC. 

 

Bach is a left handed pitcher from nearby Atholton High School where he won the team’s most valuable player honors and second-team all-county as a junior.  Bach led the Raiders to the regional finals after pitching a complete game shutout for a 4-0 victory in 2004.  Bach started his career at Wilde Lake High School before being redistricted to Atholton where he lettered as a sophomore. 

 

Comiskey is a right handed pitcher out of Great River, N.Y., where he lettered for East Islip High School the past three years.  As a junior in 2004, Comiskey earned all-league honors after posting a 1.59 ERA, leading his team to the county playoffs.  In 2002 and 2003 East Islip HS won the league championship.

 

Meaney is a catcher/outfield from Sachem East High School where he has earned Academic All-League and National Scholar Athlete honors.  Meaney helped lead his squad into the playoffs in 2003, where he hit two homeruns in a single game during the post season.  This past summer he was a member of the Long Island Titans which won the National Championships in Texas and earned a No. 3 ranking nationally.

 

Warrenfeltz is a catcher out of Williamsport High School where he led his squad last year to the Maryland 1A state championship game after winning the west region.  Warrenfeltz earned first team all-area, first team All Moncacy Valley Athletics League (MVAL) and first team All-Washington County with a .443 batting averaged and 32 runs batted in during the 2004 season.  As a sophomore he was an honorable mention All-Washington County and honorable mention All-MVAL.
