UMBC BASEBALL GETS SWEPT BY NO. 9 TULANE

Tom Rinaldi was 4-for-4 with two RBI on Sunday afternoon against Tulane.

New Orleans, La. – The UMBC Baseball team lost to Tulane University as the Green Wave completed a three-game sweep of the with a 14-5 win Sunday afternoon at Turchin Stadium.  The Retrievers allowed a seven-run second inning and could not recover as they fall to 0-3 while the Tulane moves to 5-1 on the year.

 

The Retrievers had a solid eighth inning in the game as Chris Cerullo led off with single up the middle.  A couple of batters later Zach Clark got on base after being hit by a pitch and Mike Orlando walked to load the bases.  After the Green Wave walked two more batters to put UMBC on the board, Kyle Wildasin hit a sacrifice fly to bring in one and Tom Rinaldi doubled into left field bringing in two more Retrievers.  Rinaldi finished 4-for-4 with two RBI.

 

The Retrievers return to the field with their home opener this Saturday, Feb. 28 with Army at the Baseball Factory Field at UMBC with first pitch slated for 12 p.m.
