Background: Made four appearances, including one start during his freshman year at the University of Tennessee... Recorded three strikeouts while walking just two batters for the Volunteers... A four-year letter winner at Fairfax High... Earned All-District, All-Region, and All-Metro honors while playing for the Rebels... Helped lead Fairfax to the 2011 district tournament as a senior... As a junior he went 6-2 with a 1.70 ERA, 92 strikeouts, and 18 walks... Threw a two-hit shutout in the 2012 Liberty District Tournament to help Fairfax qualify for the Northern Region tournament... Also a four-year letter winner in wrestling, winning the Liberty District Championship as well as the Northern Region Championship.
