Background: A standout athlete at W.T. Clarke High School in Westbury, N.Y…. Helped lead his team to the 2005 New York State Championship title, was part of the Long Island team that won the 2006 New York State Empire Games gold medal, and represented Nassau County in the 2007 Vytra Long Island All-Star game… Led the Rams in 2006 with a .442 average, 38 hits, 36 runs scored, 1.08 ERA, 7-1 record, and 63 strikeouts in 52.0 innings pitched… Also earned All-Conference honors in 2005 and 2007… Lists his best performance as hitting the game-winning home run in the 2006 Nassau County Championship that sent the Rams to the Long Island Championship where he hit a three-run homer to clinch the win… Named to the honor roll as a freshman and sophomore… One of three children to Anthony and Vicki Russo… Has two siblings, Anthony and Jesse… Father, Anthony played baseball for Adelphi University… Majoring in political science and aspires to become a lawyer… Born Sept. 12, 1989.
