2007: Was a solid reliever for the Retrievers, making 16 appearances, two of which he started… Had the fourth-most appearances on the team and only one returning player (Rob Hendry) had more… Held an 11.47 ERA for the season after giving up 32 runs, 31 of which were earned, during 24.1 innings… Finished with an 0-4 record… Pitched one or more scoreless innings on five different occasions… Best outing came against Maryland where he pitched two scoreless and hitless innings and struck out one batter.
2006: Made 17 appearances in his first season at UMBC, starting seven of those games… Finished with a 2-3 record… Recorded a 6.42 ERA in 40.2 innings pitched, letting up 46 hits and 38 runs and striking out 30… Best performance was at George Washington where he struck out six and let up just one earned run and five hits in 6.0 innings… Played in seven conference games, starting against Hartford and Albany.
Background: Lettered for Calvert Hall College High School before playing at Frostburg State University in 2005… Made six appearances for Frostburg, finishing with a record of 1-1 and a 4.26 ERA… Started three games and pitched 19.0 innings on the season… Held opponents to nine earned runs and a .260 batting average while striking out 17 batters… His high school varsity squad was ranked in the top-five all three lettered years at Calvert Hall… Also played football in high school… Played at Cooperstown Dreams Park in 1999 and attended the MLB Hall of Fame… Majoring in information systems...
