2007: Missed just two games during the season, as he started in 51, the fourth-most on the team… Made an immediate impact in his first year with the Retrievers, leading the team in batting average (.365), hits (62), RBI (38), slugging percentage (.553) and on-base percentage (.418), ranking second in doubles (14), home runs (6) and total bases (94)… Ranked third in the conference in batting average, fifth in slugging percentage, sixth in on-base percentage, seventh in RBI, tied for seventh in hits, tied for eighth in doubles, tied for fifth in home runs and tied for seventh in total bases… Recorded his best game against NJIT where he went 4-for-5 with two hits, four RBI, and two doubles and also pitched a complete game victory against Vermont where he allowed just three runs, two earned, on nine hits while striking out five in nine innings… Recorded 28 strikeouts in 58.0 innings pitched over the course of 12 appearances, 11 of them starts for a 6.67 ERA… Tied for fourth on the team with 28 strikeouts… Name to the America East All-Conference First-Team as well as the All-Academic Team.
At Chesapeake: Spent the last two year’s at Cheaspeake College with teammate Ryan Morse, helping the Skipjacks to fifth place at the 2005 NJCAA World Series… Was named to the MDJUCO All-Region XX First-Team and MDJUCO All-State Team during the 2005 and 2006 seasons… Also named an NJCAA All-American in 2005 and inducted into the Chesapeake College Hall of Fame in 2006.
Background: Attended Catoctin High School, where he helped the Cougars to the Maryland State 4A baseball title… Named First-Team All-Area, All-Gazette, and All-MVAL from 2003-2004 as well as being named to the Pre-Season All-State Team, Brooks Robinson Team, and Team Maryland in 2004… Holds an associate degree in liberal arts and sciences and is majoring in psychology at UMBC and aspires to be a teacher… Is the only son of Bill and Sandy Delawter… Born September 20, 1986.
