2006:  Saw action in 33 games for the Retrievers, starting 19, all at catcher… Finished the season with a .238 batting average, 20 hits, eight runs scored, and one RBI… Caught 12 runners stealing and held a .987 fielding percentage… Played in 16 conference games, recording a .302 average with 13 hits and six runs scored.

 

2005:  Started in 36 games on the season and played in 40 overall, splitting time at catcher… Started at catcher 23 games on the year and was the team’s designated hitter in 13… Batted .298 with 39 hits, six doubles, two home runs and 26 RBI… Held a .972 fielding percentage behind the plate and caught seven base runners attempting to steal… Named America East Player of the Week for the week ending April 3, 2005 after hitting an impressive .700 with three doubles, three RBI and a 1.000 slugging percentage in three games… During that span he went 3-for-4 from the plate against George Washington, recording a double; 4-for-6 at Navy, recording his first four-hit game as he drove in three runs, scored one and cracked two doubles in an 11-2 victory; and had a hit at George Mason with a run scored… That stretch was part of a season-long eight-game hit streak… Ended the season strong at home against Hartford, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored… Was his second three-RBI game on the season… Tied teammate Joe Fowler with seven multi-RBI games on the year, leading the team in that category… Recorded 12 multi-hit games which tied for third…batted .293 in conference play with 17 hits and 13 RBI.

 

2004:  Received a medical redshirt after starting the first nine games of the year, as a torn ACL forced him out of the rest of the season… Held a .286 batting average prior to his injury… His best performance was at Tulane, going 4-for-4 with two RBI and a double… Hit his first collegiate home run against Army, going 1-for-4 with two RBI.

 

Rinaldi's Background:  Original choice was Villanova but decided to transfer into the black and gold after redshirting in 2003 with the Wildcats… A three-year letterwinner on the varsity baseball team at Holmdel High School… Earned three All-Division honors and two All-County, All-Conference and All-State accolades… Was a 2002 Prep Pre-Season All-American Baseball Factory Team selection… A member of three divisional champion teams and the 2001 Group II state championship squad… Majoring in financial economics... One of two children to Frank and Rosanna Rinaldi… Born March 20, 1984.
