Iman Kennedy was name to the COBRA Magazine All-East Region Team

BALTIMORE – UMBC volleyball senior Iman Kennedy (Charlotte, N.C./Independence) was named an Honorable Mention on COBRA Magazine’s All-East Region Team, the magazine announced on Saturday.

Kennedy, who just completed her final season with the Retrievers, led the team in blocks per set (0.92) this year, while having the second-best hitting percentage (.289) behind freshman Dalton Tolliver (Ortonville, Mich./Notre Dame Prep).

After four years in Baltimore, Kennedy ranks second on the school’s all-time list for block assists with 276, and fourth on UMBC’s list in total blocks with 306.

COBRA Magazine's purpose is to celebrate the success of volleyball players of African as well as Samoan and Tongan descent in hopes of encouraging young girls of those ethnic groups across the country to pursue the sport.
