PHILADELPHIA—Four Retrievers scored in double figures, but the UMBC women’s basketball team (1-2) dropped its first road game of the season, 77-55, to Saint Joseph’s (1-2) Saturday afternoon at Hagan Arena. The Retrievers made four of their first five shots of the game and led, 8-1, after 3:40 of action, but the Hawks scored 11 of the next 13 points to go on top, 12-10, at the 13:02 mark. The Retrievers tied it twice over the next 3:09, but a three-pointer by Ashley Prim gave the Hawks the lead for good with 9:33 left in the half. After The Hawks pulled away early in the second period, opening the half with a 14-4 run over the first six minutes to lead, 48-35, and the Retrievers could not get within single digits the rest of the way.
