Dominic Devaud Tabbed to Academic All-District First Team

Devaud now advances to the national ballot, where he will compete with members of each all-district first team for Academic All-America recognition, which will be announced Thursday, June 18.
A mechanical engineering major who boasts a 3.68 grade-point average, Devaud won the heptathlon at the America East Indoor Championship with 4,857 points, and also finished fifth in the pole vault and sixth in the 55-meter hurdles at the indoor conference meet. An America East All-Academic selection during the outdoor season, he placed fifth in the decathlon, sixth in the pole vault and eighth in the 110-meter hurdles at the Outdoor Championship. Devaud was also named the Retrievers’ Most Valuable Athlete for the indoor season at UMBC’s varsity awards banquet last month.
