UMBC Athlete of the Week: Amanda Deller, Women’s Track & Field

Amanda Deller won the shot put at the 2011 America East Championships over the weekend at UMBC Stadium with a throw of 14.38m (47’2.25”0. She also finished second in the discus throw with a heave of 41.63m (136’7”). The sophomore from Aberdeen, Md., is now the two-time defending champion in the shot put in both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
