UMBC Athlete of the Week: Sabrina Hoeks, Volleyball

Sabrina Hoeks was named to the all-tournament team at the Madison Bingaman Memorial Tournament this past weekend after leading the Retrievers to a 2-2 record. The senior outside hitter led the Retrievers with 50 kills (2.94 kps) and 12 service aces (0.71 aps) and was second on the team with 46 digs (2.71 dps). Hoeks earned two double-doubles, including a 19-kill, 13-dig performance against Sacred Heart. The native of Olympia, Wash., leads the America East and ranks fifth in the NCAA in service aces with 0.79 per set this season.
