Athlete of the Week: Abbey McKenney, Swimming and Diving

Junior Abbey McKenney helped lead the women’s swimming and diving team to a sweep of Drexel and Howard on Saturday with four gold medals. She anchored the 200-yard medley relay that broke the Drexel Pool record in 1:48.09, and she was also a part of the 400-yard freestyle relay that won in 3:36.31. In addition, the Wilmington, Del., native won both of her individual events, the 50 free (24.21) and the 200 back (2:07.79). These were the fifth and sixth individual wins of the season for McKenney, who won gold in the 100 free at the 2010 America East Championships.
