UMBC Athlete of the Week: Amanda Deller, Track & Field

Sophomore Amanda Deller opened the 2010-11 indoor campaign right where she began last year, winning an event at the Bison Opener on Saturday. The native of Aberdeen, Md., won the weight throw with a heave of 16.50m (54’1.6”), more than four feet over her previous career best. The 2010 America East Indoor and Outdoor shot put champion also placed second in that event this weekend with a mark of 13.98m (45’10.4”).
