Athlete of the Week: Sherelle Walker, Women's Volleyball

Freshman outside hitter Sherelle Walker was named the America East Rookie of the Week for a second time this season after totaling 39 kills with a .419 hitting percentage against two conference foes. The New Freedom, Pa. native, set a new career-high with 22 kills in the Retrievers’ five-set loss to New Hampshire on Friday and then sparked a rally with 17 winners as UMBC came from behind to defeat Providence on Sunday. For the season, Walker ranks fourth and fifth, respectively, in the America East with a 2.38 hitting efficiency and 223 kills, leading the team in both categories.
