Athlete of the Week: Raven Harris, Women's Basketball

Senior guard Raven Harris earned America East Player of the Game honors in each of the Retrievers two games last week. Harris led the Black and Gold in scoring (14.0 ppg), assists (3.0 apg), steals (1.5 spg) and blocks (1.5 bpg) as UMBC went 1-1. The Virginia Beach, Va., native scored seven points and pulled down five rebounds against defending league champion Albany. Harris bounced back on Saturday, playing nearly all 40 minutes in a 71-55 victory versus Vermont. Harris connected on a trio of three-point plays to help give the Retrievers the lead for good against the Catamounts and finished with a game-high 21 points, her third 20-point performance in the last four games, in addition to pulling down five rebounds and notching a career-high two blocks. Her 15.5 points per game during conference play ranks third in the America East.
