Athlete of the Week: Mercedes Jackson, Women's Track and Field

Mercedes Jackson broke her own school record in the 60m dash at the Bison Opener, en route to winning the event with a time of 7.47. This is the second straight year that the Huntingtown, Md. native, has won the event at Bucknell after claiming the victory in her first-ever collegiate meet last year as a freshman. This past weekend, Jackson broke her old mark of 7.49, which she set at last year’s America East Championships, in the prelims with a time of 7.48, and proceeded to better that time in the finals. Jackson currently holds two individual indoor school records and two individual outdoor records for the Retrievers.
