UMBC Athlete of the Week: Tara Morrissette, Swimming and Diving

Sophomore Tara Morrissette earned two golds and a silver to help lead the Retrievers to the George Mason Patriot Invitational crown last weekend. The native of Somersworth, N.H., won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:02.80 – the fifth-fastest time in school history – and took the 200-yard individual medley title in 2:06.20, as well. The 2010 America East Most Outstanding Female Rookie also finished second in the 400 IM in a time of 4:24.05, breaking her own school record by more than a second.
