UMBC Athlete of the Week: Hallie Carter, Volleyball

Sophomore outside hitter Hallie Carter led the Retrievers to a 3-1 record last week and was named to the all-tournament team at the Madison Bingaman Memorial Tournament after posting three double-doubles over the weekend. The Huntington Beach, Calif., native averaged 3.33 kills per set and 3.20 digs per set, good for second on the team in both categories. Carter’s best performance came against Norfolk State in the finale of the tournament, when she posted 14 kills and 12 digs while hitting an outstanding .393. For the season, she ranks seventh in the America East wit h2.78 kills per set and eighth with 2.97 digs per set.
