THE BASEBALL FACTORY FIELD AT UMBC

Directions & Map | Photo Gallery | UMBC Baseball

UMBC’s previous baseball facility, Alumni Field, was renamed The Baseball Factory Field at UMBC following an April 20, 2004 ceremony, which debuted the addition of a lighting system, new field surface, and warning tracks thanks to the Retrievers’ partnership with The Baseball Factory organization. The $350,000 renovation included a new lighting system that features eight poles surrounding the stadium, as well as a brand new playing surface and warning track around the entire field. The Baseball Factory Field at UMBC utilizes an eight-pole system that features the Musco lighting system, considered one of the best lighting systems for sports complexes. The Duraturf Service Corporation out of Richmond, Va., also redesigned the Retrievers’ playing field and added a warning track around the inside of the entire ball park. The press box and dugout facilities have also been upgraded since the inauguration of the newly renamed field as well as the addition of permanent seating bleachers.
