ACADEMIC CENTER FOR STUDENT-ATHLETES

Directions & Map | Photo Gallery | ACSA Homepage

The Academic Center for Student-Athletes (ASCA) was part of the $2.4 million Spring 2004 Retriever Activities Center renovation and was completed on March 16, 2005. The center, which serves as the UMBC Athletics Department EXCELL program headquarters, contains offices for each of the department’s three academic advisors as well as study space for Retriever studentathletes. ASCA is not only a place for student-athletes to study, however, as it also serves as the liaison to several departments on campus. ACSA assists students with registration, financial aid, and career development, to name a few. It is located on the second floor of the RAC and is furnished with 12 computers, individual study carrels, tutoring space and a comprehensive resource area. The ASCA is located on the second floor of the Retriever Activities Center, to the right of the front desk in the lobby of the building.
